note to self: think before you send a card half way across the country

well, my grandma's sister died on tuesday and my parents went to chicago for the funeral. i have not felt any sorrow or sadness because i didn't really know my grandma's sister and i think i was really little when i did know her. also, my grandma's birthday is on saturday so i sent her a happy birthday/sympathy card. they didn't have any half birthday/half sympathy cards at the store, so i made one myself. it says something like this:

"Happy Birthday Grandma! I hope you have a great day! You deserve it! Tell my mom and dad hi for me. sorry to hear about your sister. hope the funeral went good. Happy Birthday Grandma!"

after i sent it... i am thinking that i really should have invested in a nice sympathy card AND a nice birthday card.
